Bexley C of E admission criteria

Hi all,
I'd like my 3 year old to go to Bexley C of E when she starts school in Sept 2014. I know regular church attendance is a must and have ticked that box - but does your child also have to be christened??

Thanks!

The admissions policy will be on the bexley council website, in the primary admissions booklet. The most up to date one for Sept 2014 will be available in September, but last year's one should still be on there, and it will give you a good idea.

You need to check each school admissions policy. I am in the same situation as my son will start reception in September 2014.

Thank you both. I checked the admissions policy and it says although you dont need to complete a "supplementary information form", as you do for most faith schools, you do need a letter from the church. I know that attendance for a minimum of 6 months is necessary for a letter from the vicar, but thats the only requirement I'm aware of....

...can't seem to find anything that tells me if your child being christened is also a requirement.

Passionateparent - so is your son not christened either?

Depends if you are looking for a church of England school or a catholic school. For the church of England schools being baptised is not a requirement but it is for catholic schools.

Hi, my son just started Old Bexley C of E and he is NOT christened. I believe they are going 4 form entry next year so you'll have even more of a chance to get in. Good luck x

May I also recommend Big School Buddies for next year? It's a FREE service launched last night to put you in contact with the children and parents/carers in your daughters class with fun Summer Activities during the summer holidays where your daughter can meet and forge friendships with her new class mates making the transition from nursery to Big School less daunting:
