Can anyone recommend anyone who can ci dress alterations?

I keep buying old dresses off eBay and my latest one is way more ball gowny than I anticipated, is there a local dressmaker type person anyone can recommend which could take it up for me? I'd do it myself but I fear I'll probably bodge it and it's too nice to destroy! Thanks in advance Ruth

Oops, obviously should read "can do dress alterations" darn the iPad and its infernal keypad....

I think the dry cleaners in the Cowick Street precinct does alterations... never used them, though!
