MK LOCAL 1ST MEETUP CONFIRMED

cupcakekid · 28/02/2013 20:54

Well ladies, we have a date, time & venue for our first Mumsnet Local meet up. From the replies I had before it seemed that most people wanted somewhere central & during the day so that if they needed to bring their little ones they could. So here are the all important details:

DATE: FRIDAY 15th MARCH
TIME: 10.30AM - 12 NOON (or however long you can stay)
VENUE: TEA MONKEY in central MK next to Barclays Bank

Tea Monkey are going to give us a little space just for us & INeed and fill us with cake & tea (or whatever else you like to drink during the day). They have little tables and chairs for the children and supply crayons, colouring books for little ones and iPads for bigger ones (woo hoo!!)

I've attached the info from the first thread below in case you've forgotton what it's all about. So what I need to know now is who is up for it?? Please can you reply with a big YES and also let me know if you'll be bringing your little one aswell so that I can make sure we have enough for everyone!!

Speak soon,
Cupcakekid

We'd like to trial an 'I need a babysitter/ dog walker/ plumber/ carpenter' gizmo here on our Milton Keynes site. First of all we want to organise a special Meet-up where local Mumsnetters come and tell us what they'd like from this sort of service. The lovely people at iNeed (our partners on this) would like to offer free coffees/ treats/ gin to get things rolling. The services gizmo chat would take around 15-30 minutes but then the rest of the meeting would just be a regular Mumsnet meet-up. Anyone interested?

Ah drat, we have swimming in Leighton Buzzard at that time! When you have the next one (because there will always be a need for cake), any chance of having it on a Friday afternoon?

sophie90 · 11/03/2013 14:16

StrawbRhi are U bringing your daughter? My son has just turned 2 but is very shy. Would love to find him some friends too :)

StrawbRhi · 12/03/2013 11:31

Hi Sophie, yes I will be :) she turned 2 at Christmas and although independent can be quite shy! Would love to find her a friend outside of school too :)

cupcakekid · 12/03/2013 18:11

Ah shame PyjamaDramaAmy! Yes we can do a Friday afternoon next time or whatever time we want.

Just to remind you all that the guys from INeed will be there at the start to get your ideas, thoughts, suggestions on their new gizmo thing. Should be around 20mins and then the rest is us.

See you Friday :)

Made it in time to pick up DD - Just!

Was lovely to meet you all.

Fluffysortofname · 15/03/2013 13:00

My apologies ladies.

About half an hour before leaving i got a call from DD3s school asking me to come and get her - she's been sick at school and is running a temp. :( She's pale and clammy and tucked up in bed, bless her.

If there's another meet i will try for that instead. I don't mind morning or afternoon .....

Sorry again, i was looking forward to it x

ZoeandBeans · 15/03/2013 13:33

iNeed promised us free gin at our next meet up so we should definitely organise one soon Wink

cupcakekid · 15/03/2013 13:43

Hi Guys, thanks for coming today, it was lovely to meet you all and I think INeed found your input really useful - yes next time an evening one with them and wine for me!

ZoeandBeans, glad you made it in time, I was thinking there was no way you'd get there!

Fluffysortofname, hope your little one is ok, there is so much of it going round at the minute - I blame the weather!! Don't worry about not making it, we were talking about holding a monthly one so they can become regular, moring, afternoon, evening whenever!

INeed want to meet us end of April with some prototypes for us to try and I think that would be an evening one with yes gin (or whatever else you drink!) As soon as I have more info on that I'll post the date and I'll start another meet up thread with a new date with just us so get your thinking caps on for when's good for you and where.

Have a lovely weekend all of you!

It was close that's for sure. I felt a bit bad at leaving when he'd just started to get into the swing of things.

Looking forward to the next meet up.

Fluffysortofname · 18/03/2013 08:07

I think a monthly meeting is a great idea. Seems less likely to attract fate to step in and muck things up Grin

DD is feeling better now thanks. Just hoping it's not going to go round the family.

cupcakekid · 18/03/2013 10:12

There is def. something going around, my little one has a temp he's like a hot water bottle!! I'll start a new thread this week for a monthly meet up and people can put their preferences.

Enjoy your day and glad DD is better.
