Hi there, I hope I'm not misusing this forum, but it was recommended to me by my sister. I'm a male counsellor working here in York at a school and university. I'm also studying a part-time Masters at Northumbria Uni in order to specialise in working therapeutically with children and adolescents. This course includes a module in 'infant observation', which leads me on to this rather unusual request...
In short, I'm looking for a baby to observe, from the first few weeks of birth, for 1hr per week for a period of up to to 2 years. The observation would take place in the home, and I would simply be there to observe and learn about the child's development, not to make any judgments about parenting or childcare or anything like that. So essentially I was wondering if any of you are, or know, a soon-to-be mother who may be interested in allowing me to observe your/her baby?
Until last week I had an observation set up, but unfortunately the parents have had to pull out at the last minute due to family circumstances, leaving me in a position where I may be put back a year unless I can find a baby soon. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, and have a good xmas.
