I'm coming up from the south and I'm meeting her in Lions Yard. Should I drive in tot eh car park there or is it best to use the park and ride. It'll be mid morning on tuesday, if that makes a difference.

TIA

Definitely use the park and ride. Parking is extortionate in town and the park and ride busses are very regular.

thanks very much guys. I should have plenty of time for the walk so i'll head to Queen Anne car park. Will it be sign posted which way to walk?

I think it is signposted but quite easy. As you come out of the carpark, the swimming pool is on your right and you walk across the grass towards the left hand corner (if that makes sense!) or towards pizza hut!!

is the road actually called Queen Anne Terrace? The satnav on my phone cannot find it.

No, it's called Gonville Place.

If you're going to be more than a couple of hours I'd use the park and ride rather than car park.

thank you so much Smile. Mumsnet comes up trumps yet again.
I'm going to go to the Queen Anne one I think. I know it's more expensive but ti's a one off trip, I fancy the walk and I'd rather not be at the mercy of the bus timetable, even if they are very frequent. Thanks again

It's not just the parking charges that put me off driving in Cambridge, it's the kamikaze cyclists. The P&R really is very good.

mckenzie · 19/06/2012 16:11

I survived the cyclists but I think next time, i'll do the Trumpington P&R. To save me getting a little lost getting out of Cambridge town centre Smile
Great place though. Lovely shops, grassy areas, music playing. I'll definitely be going back.
