Recommendation of taxi firms to take you to hospital when in labour

Hi

I am 33 weeks and planning to have our baby at St Thomas'. As it is mega expensive to park there (and we have no idea how long i'll be in labour for...), we were planning on getting a taxi to take us. However, the hospital seemed to think that some taxi firms won't take women in labour?

Does anyone have any recommendations of taxi companies (we live in Balham) that have taken them to hospital whilst they have been in labour?

Thanks
x

When I was expecting DS, DH had a ComCab account and called one of their cabs for me when I went into labour.

Have you checked the maternity parking policy at St Thomas'? Kingston (and, I believe, St George's) do free parking permits for women in labour (theoretically last 24 hours at Kingston, but they in practice if you are in labour for longer they last longer).

I thought st Thomas did give you parking - always used to. Computacab or Radiotaxis best as usually have one in area (Private hire firms more unreliable).

Thanks guys. I had hoped we'd get free parking at St Thomas' but the hospital confirmed that we would have to pay, didn't matter if you were in labour!
