American professor looking for house / flat to let in Cambridge

Hello Cambridge people! An American friend of mine, who is a lecturer in English and American Studies at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA, is coming over to Cambridge to run a summer school. He is looking for a house or flat to let from 1st July to 12th August. Does anyone know anywhere available for that period? Or anyone spending the summer holidays away and would like a friendly American couple to house sit / rent their house?

He and his wife are extremely nice as well as being trustworthy etc.

Thanks in advance!

Try the Cambridge Accommodation Noticeboard

Thanks very much for your reply! Is that site well-used / well-known about in Cambridge?

I'd say so. I've used it successfully for finding rental properties - over ten years ago but the fact that it is still going says something. Smile

Depending on what he is doing he may be eligible to get help from the University Accommodation Service.

Gumtree is also useful of course. Agencies probably won't have anything for such a short period.

Apparently Wesley House has at least one nice, small flat that's available to rent out of term.
