Where to buy in New Malden - The Groves or Beverley Park??

We don't really know New Malden in general... but moving there anyway because we cannot afford a big house in North Kingston. We're torn between two properties in the above two areas.
Children are still small and staying (for the time being) in their North Kingston primary. With regard to secondaries our prime suspects are Coombe Girls/Wimbledon College, etc.
The estate agents are trying hard to sell us both areas, but they have a vested interest....
Anyone here to give some more (un)biased advice?

I lived in New Malden for about 13 years until we moved further out for a bigger house - I know this isn't what you're hoping for but I don't think there's much to choose between The Groves and Beverley Park. Both are nice safe areas within easy walking distance of the station. Obviously the park in Beverley Park might be a bonus as you have children, but having to drive across (or drive down) the High Street to get your children to their school in North Kingston might outweigh that. Depends what your priorities are really.

One thing I'd say about The Groves is that the roads around the school(s) were very congested at school drop-off/pick-up times.

I'd happily have stayed in New Malden if we could have afforded the type of house we wanted. Hope you're happy whichever house you decide on :-)

Both are nice areas but I agree...less congested round the park.
The groves can be a nightmare and with talk of rebuilding The junior site at Christchurch, it will be even worse.

Welcome to NM anyway..we have lived here 15 years and still like it.

Oops I can't believe I nearly missed your comments.
Thank you for your advice! "Problem" sorted itself out really as we have settled for Malden Hill. Will try and cut through the high street and use back roads to get to north kingston in the mornings. Afternoon traffic shouldn't really be a problem.

Know anything about Burlington Infants? We weren't going to move the children, but would like to find out about the local schools and especially Burlington.

Very good schools....very highly thought of.
Very multi cultural....friends have commented that sometimes there's a lack of integration, having friends home for tea etc.
