Nurseries in West Oxfordshire - any recommendations?

I'm looking for a place for my one year old DD and I'm more concerned with warm and friendly with plenty of outdoors activity than I am with 'educational' targets.

I also need somewhere that's fairly flexible as to minimum hours attended - initially I just want to put her in for two mornings a week.

Any suggestions?

Whereabouts in west oxon are you?

My daughter went to Filkins (near Carterton) and that was the most amazing nursery - can't praise it highly enough but that is right on the border of west oxon and Gloucestershire. So may be too West for you. It also doesn't accept children until they're 2. But, google it - its a fab nursery and one of those rare gems that I have never heard a parent say a bad word about it. My dd is now in reception and loves it, but she'd go back if she could.

And yes, it has lots of outdoor space, and they keep chickens and guinea pigs and have got a veranda so they can be outside even if it's raining!

I'm near Carterton myself and had looked at Filkins but, like you say, doesn't take under twos Sad

Thanks for the recommendation though - maybe I can look at it again in a few months time!

I've heard good things about Scott's House and Willow Cottage (both near Eynsham).

Hi
Both my Son and Daughter attended Scott's house. I would recommend them my son attended from 18mths through to 4, my daugher from 16months through to 3.
My daughter did leave 18months ago though so not that recently but know other people who have children there and they are all very happy.

Brilliant - I'm actually off to have a look at Scott's House this afternoon. I had a look round Railway Children in Charlbury this morning (recommended by friends) and they also seem very nice, good staff ratios, in-house training and development for staff, that sort of thing. Then I'm having a look at Petit Enfant in Witney tomorrow. Wish me luck!
