Elephant House on George iv Bridge is popular with kids and Grannies in my experience. Food isn't wonderful.

Mums on Forest Road is great for lunch, cheap and cheerful and the food is yummy.

Just looked at Tower, looks nice for afternoon tea, although could end up costing £70 for the 4 of us, which is a bit more than I was thinking.

Will def head over for dinner without ds and mother sometime Grin

Porto And Fi on the Mound - good idea, definitely worth a go. Was there for lunch with my dad, great fish pie.

What about Spoon on Clerk Street? It is upstairs right at the end of Chambers Street. Very nice food and a good play area for kids.
