Best GP in Harpenden for TTC, Babies and family

Hi I need some advice. I'm thinking of changing GP in Harpenden and wondering if anyone can offer a suggestion. I've been TTC for over a year (to have my first) and my GP really isn't helpful or concerned. I don't know what else to do but maybe find another GP. Any suggestions on a surgery and share maybe your good experiences with taking your family.

Dr Alka Cashyap
Dr Cashyap has been at Davenport House since 1990 and enjoys all aspects of general practice, but has a special interest in Women?s Health, particularly in Contraception and the Menopause. She also does some Acupuncture.

In addition, she is a Trainer within the practice, and Appraiser for GP?s in the area. Her hobbies include reading, cookery and music.

She is married with two grown up children.

Her qualifications are MBBS, DRCOG, DCH, FP Cert, Dip Med Ed, and the MRCGP"

She is at Davenport House Surgery.

I'm at Davenport House - and I think they're great. Granted the building has been a construction site for what feels like an eternity, but they are responsive, I've never had a problem getting an appointment, and the few times we've ever needed referrals etc they been really helpful in sorting them quickly.

Just starting to TTC our first, so hope my good experience will continue.

Good luck!

Dr Whadwhani at Davenport House surgery is a lovely female doctor. Infact most of the doctors there are very good. You can always get a same day appointment, especially if it is for a child.

Definitely wouldn't recommend Davenport House for children/child related problems. We've left there and gone to The Elms and with 3 children of under 5 we've been thrilled. Not sure about TTC but the receptionists will be able to give you advice on the best doctor for your needs.

We're at Davenport House and I'm perfectly happy with them. My only gripe is that they charge for patients to join their patient participation group which seems outrageous, but as I'm not joining it anyway, I haven't bothered to protest.
