Moving to village near Stamford...school advice please!

Hi there mumsnetters my DH, DS (7), DD (5) & I are moving to the Stamford area. We don't know have friends or family in the area and I'm looking for any advice anyone can offer on schools in the area - all very gratefully received! We want to make sure we live in the best location. Both primary for now and secondary for later. Thanks v much!

Hi salpal! I live just over the border in northamptonshire, but know Stamford well.
I went to the girls school. Not sure what the primary or secondary school options are like now tbh. I hope te move goes well. It really is a lovely town.

Hiya - I hate to sound like I'm shamelessly plugging, but I am! I hope you've now moved to the area and have settled in, and the children are happy in their schools. I just wanted you to know that we run a class called Gymbobs for school age to 7 year olds at the Arts Centre on a Thursday night at 4.15. We do relay races, group games, a short aerobics session and lots of climbing, balancing and co-ordination time on our specialist equipment.

If your children would like to meet a lovely bunch of local children of a similar age, you might want to have a look at The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts, Rutland. We run a Saturday morning academy from 9.45am - 1pm, and have lots of boys too!
