Where to stay in Brighton for one night with 2 small children?

We want to go down to Brighton some time next week (about maybe 15 or 16 Dec) with DD1 (3.5 yrs) and DD2 (6 months) to see my cousin's new baby, but are having difficulty finding anywhere suitable. Problems are:

Premier Inn/ Travelodge type places - don't appear to have suites, and we don't just want one room because you end up having to sit in the dark, or in the ensuite, after children's bedtime at 7pm!

B&B / hotels - literally all insist on a 2 night minimum stay

Apartment / self-catering flat / cottage - again, all insist on 2 or even 3 night minimum stay (even when I pointed out that at this short notice they probably won't fill the space so could they do a one-night deal).

Any ideas? Surely families sometimes go away for a night without staying with friends or family?!

Have you tried The Old Ship? It is a Barcelo and has adjoining rooms.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply! Amazingly I have tracked down the (apparently) only place in Brighton which doesn't have a 2 night minimum (the apartments at www.ei8ghtbrighton.co.uk) through Late Rooms - got a 1 bed apartment with additional sofa bed for £69, usual price £140. Bargain!

I will definitely bear The Old Ship in mind for our next visit though, so thanks! Smile

Glad you found somewhere - it is so expensive to get anywhere around there!

Have a lovely time
