I'm going back to work in Jan :( and my mum is going to be looking after DD. I was wondering if there are any baby groups out there which are grandparent friendly (she lives in Headington)....

Little sharks on Mondays often has a smattering of grandparents, as does Splat on Wednesdays; older childminders are often around at various groups too.

Busy Bees Music group, which meets in Gladstone Road on Tuesday mornings, has several grandparents at the sessions I go to. I rate the leader very highly as well: she has been doing it for many years and creates an atmosphere which is relaxed but focused.

There are also grandparents at the library's free nursery rhyme session on Wednesdays at Cowley Library (number 10 bus). I haven't been to the sessions at Headington Library.

If your mum goes to Bury Knowle Park on a regular basis I am sure she'll meet other grandparents there too.

Headington is really great for the mix of adults with children at all the groups I've been to - plenty of mums but a reasonable number of dads and grandparents too.
