Hi! I'm moving to Hove next week with my husband who was born and bred in Hove and my 7 month old son. I'm 40 and very happy to meet mums of all ages. Very excited about the prospect of life by the sea...I'd love to meet mums in the area. Have been looking at the childfriendlybrighton website which has been helpful, any other suggestions for meet ups would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Welcome to Brove! I also have a DS, 6.5 months - I'm the other side in Hanover, but happy to meet up for a coffee. PM me if you'd like to meet up :)

Not an expert in stuff going on in Hove, but do you know about the Cornerstone baby and you group? (It says it's for pre-walking babies, but should warn you the Tarner version turns away crawling babies.) There's also Baby Boogie at Jubilee Library in the city centre on the first and third Thursday of every month, and at local libraries too. Plus the usual paid-for stuff like Little Dippers, Buggyfit and Baby Sensory

Hi Philiboo,

Going along to some parent & baby / toddler groups might be a good way to meet other parents. You could take a look on our Family Services Directory at www.familyinfobrighton.org.uk - in the Children & Young People zone you will find an activities for under 5's category.
Your local Children's Centre would also be a good place to start, and there might be some interesting groups you can access there. For more information on Children's Centres visit www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/childrenscentres

Hi Philiboo, just wondered how you got on with your quest for info and meetups? I'm 40, live in hove and my DS is 7 months, so I'm always looking for new activities and so on to take him along to - I'd be happy to meet for coffee if you like. The book nook in hove is a nice friendly place to hang out, plus they have a great book selection!

There's so much stuff to do with kids here but it's nice to get recommendations of what's good.

May offer something a little stronger ;) Wine

We're having a Brighton Christmas meet-up on December 3rd, you'd all be very welcome :) Not sure where yet, but it'll probably be a late lunch (with Wine!) somewhere in central Brighton and the the pub after for those who don't have to rush back (not sure if I can do that bit or not yet!)

They're a really nice bunch, and every time I've been there's been someone new there.

It's usually mums-only although DCs welcome too if you're stuck for childcare! (There have often been babies and toddlers along.)

The thread's in meet-ups, here

Hope to see you there! :)
