Does anyone live too far away from their kid's grandparents for them to visit?

When I was growing up, my grandparents lived so far away that I hardly ever saw them. My elderly next door neighbours were like grandparents to me.

Do you live far away from your parents now? Do you think you and your kids would benefit from having local 'adopted' grandparents?

Yes, my girls would love adopted grandparents, I was brought up in care and hubbys parents live miles away and are separeted. As long as they were properly vetted that would be my concern!!

I would love adopted grandparents! My mum passed away, dad lives away and the inlaws live on the coast and are not in the best health anyway.
I grew up with my nan living locally, I stayed at hers every weekend and during the school holidays. She died a couple of years ago too and I miss her almost as much as my mum.

I see granny like women on the street and often think I want a local granny!!!
