Villages North of Bristol - where's good?

Hi All. DH has just been offered and accepted a job in North Bristol. We're currently in London (and always have been) and need to move down by September.

We have 2 DCs, aged 2.5 and 6 months, so would need stuff going on for pre-schoolers.

In an ideal world, somewhere villagey that has a few things going on nearby with good transport links into the city (I tend not to drive, but like to be able to get about).

We've got a budget of £350,000.

What do you think?

depends how far north you want to go. south gloucestershire is the LA north of bristol but really starts on the edge of bristol. (where i live)

if i had that budget (little bit Envy) then i'd look at almondsbury, thornbury, winterbourne, frampton cottrell.

all south glos, all decent schools but all not really villages tbh. they're bigger but have lots of countryside near by.
