Hall that will hold around 200ish, will let in kids (even just for a while), not too expensive, fairly centralish, available at short notice...any ideas?

Hoping that someone might have some ideas that I haven't yet thought of.

I'm holding a charity event, I had initially booked a hall to hold around 120 people, but than many tickets have now been sold and I have lots of people still wanting to attend, so I am looking for a bigger venue.

Due to trying to raise as much money as possible, I don't want to pay out hundreds of pounds for the hall. Initial hall is charging £100, so the cheaper the better.

Night is on 19th March, so pretty short notice, any ideas anyone?

If not we will just stick with where we are and stop selling tickets, it just seems a shame as more people want to be involved.

Thanks!

City halls? Might get a discount if its for charity, The Arches? To be honest, anywhere central for that amount of people is going to be expensive.

What about a bowling club? There's one in Shawlands I'm sure.

Wellington Church on University Ave. Their Woodlands Hall sits 180 according to the website and, according to their diary on the same website, there's nothing on the 19th.

Where abouts?

Thanks everyone.

Bethelbeth, City halls is booked out, as is the arches (and most places to be honest!!) We are hoping anywhere that isn't booked might give us a discount, surely it is better to have a full hall of people buying drinks than for it to be empty.

We've tried loads of bowling clubs, none seem to hold more than the 120 we have so far, but thanks Smile

Suzi, excellent thank you, that was one we didn't know about, my friend is contacting them just now, fingers crossed!!

Falach, pretty much anywhere in central Glasgow, or within easy travelling distance of.

Try Christ the King Church Hall, tis lovely...modern, new, good size...on main road in Kingspark.

I will try there today, thanks! Have had no luck with everywhere else, so if this is a no go, then we will just stick with where we are and squeeze in! Wink
