Can anyone recommend good holiday clubs and any karate classes please?

DS starts school in Sept and so need to plan for the Oct half term

Also want to start DS in karate lessons as he's mad about Kung Fu Panda and all films involving karate. Quite frankly, he's getting rather hyped up and I think it would calm the little bugger down a tad

I'm assuming you've checked whether his new school has a holiday club? Some of the state primaries also have holiday clubs open to children not at their schools - you could probably find out via the council website - but they might be a bit tougher for a four/five-year-old if a lot of the other children already knew each other.

Otherwise, I know people who've used the holiday clubs at Torwood House and Clifton College and I think have been happy with them. Not cheap, but they cover the whole day if you are working, and do a lot of different activities. I think there is also a holiday care provider using the facilities at Badminton school, but I don't know anything about it.

As for karate, have you tried the Japan Arts Centre on Jacobs Wells Road?
