Living in Lausanne / Switzerland..

Can anyone tell me what I need to know about moving to Lausanne, or Switzerland in general..? Especially about buying a house link to estate agents possible?.. And info about the international schools?

Hopefully somebody will be along to talk to you about Lausanne, we live in Zug in central Switzerland.
Buying a house is pretty difficult around here due to the lack of property for sale. Immoscout.ch or homegate.ch have property on them.
I know nothing of the international schools over that end of the country. Sorry.

kreecher we are moving to the German side in 3 months - possibly Solothurn (will be employed in Oensingen).

Buying a house out here can take yeeeeeaars - assume you'll be renting, at least at first.

And the schooling will depend on the child(ren)'s age, and whether you want/need a British or US curriculum, depending on how close to exams they are.

Yes fireup, although I am not the only one in this area. I should (fingers crossed) be away from tomorrow until Thursday. Depends on the volcanic ash situation.

Plenty of us in the French speaking area, mostly in or around Geneva. I cannot tell you anything about Lausanne, or International Schools as we are not in that area. Have you joined the Yahoo group, Expat Moms? It is good for info.

Buying a house is difficult in CH, very expensive and not much choice. A lot of people buy in neighbouring France.
