Car seats in America

Hi. I'm moving to Kansas in May and was hoping to get a straight answer on car seat regulations (the websites I've tried aren't that explicit).

I have twins who will be 3yrs 9 months and DD who will be 1yr. I am planning on taking DDs car seat on the plane (the forward facing type) and buying booster seats for the twins when we get there. Is this OK?

i think they have different safety standards to us. i know that you can't use US seats over here....

might be worth seeing if you can find what standards they have to meet before taking your own seat over just in case you can't use it
