Just moved to Antwerp

I have just moved to Antwerp from London with OH and our 3 month old DS. I'll join BCT (in Brussels), but want to find mums and babies groups and/or activities in Antwerp so we can do things and make friends locally. Does anyone have any advice about this? Thanks!

Try the talk boards on Xpats.com, or expatica.com. I know they have plenty of Antwerp people. The BCT does seems to be a bit Brussels centric. Welcome to Belgium!

Brilliant. I'll be stalking you niklof. We are moving there in July/August. A word of caution about the expats.com, I put a couple of innocuous questions on it and the venom was unreal.
What is your weather like at the moment? We are in central Switzerland and the snow is falling.

Hi kreecherlivesupstairs. Will keep that in mind about xpats.com. The weather here is not too bad - we had brilliant sunshine yesterday. It has been a cold and snowy winter though - much more snow than normal. But hopefully we won't get anymore snow!

No Antwerp group in the BCT (there would be though if someone wanted to start one although I would think you would have far too much to do with a move and a three month old to cope with to want to start one yourself!!) but there is the APC (Antwerp Parent and Child). The Chairperson is Steffi Grandorf and her e-mail address is [email protected]. I don't have any personal experience of it though. Hope that helps and good luck living in Belgium.

So pleased this has been bumped. We arrive next Monday, me and DD 9.2 went over last week to look at our new house, it is fab after living in a flat. She is determined to get chickens, I just want to get out of Switzerland. Will check back to see if anyone fancies a meet.
