I had a total nightmare getting home tonight. Got dd from school then basically no buses! After waiting 45 mins and getting dh to dig out the car to come get us, one bus came along. We got on it as it was at least warm even if it wasn't going our way.

Luckily we managed to change to another bus to bring us home. It took 3 hours in total! Dh tried to drive the other direction to pick us up but got stuck.

Poor dd was exhausted! Last day of school tomorrow. I wonder if they will actually clear the roads. It wasn't as if they didn't KNOW it was going to snow! Where were the fecking gritters earlier?

I was just opening this topic to talk about the snow!

Poor you and dd getting delayed for three hours - what did your dd think? What it all a big adventure in the way only children can imagine? My dd1 loves the snow but dd2 hates it and was very upset this morning leaving for school, she didn't want to walk in the snow. It's a nightmare for cars on our hill. A couple of times yesterday I was worried a car was going to lose control and crash into us on the pavement.

It took nearly four hours for my dh to drive home from Antwerp yesterday, fortunately today he is working in Leuven. The sledges were out today!

She was very good about it really. Bit of moaning about the cold at the bus stop then she dozed off on the bus. Luckily I had a lollipop in my handbag. I let her sleep in this morning, but we are going to work/school at lunchtime. Unfortunately i have meetings this afternoon otherwise I would try to work from home today. Myabe some sledging tomorrow?

An emergency lollipop can solve everything at this age!

Another huge snow fall in the night and today! I've seen people skiing on the streets , and the children are now out tobogganing with dh.

Despite the snow the postman delived me my Christmas cards on time, on his bike going up the hill!

Wow! I got dd to the holiday club and finally into work - a journey involving 3 buses! It has started snowing again in Brussels so I will leave early today I think.
