Yes, we have kept ours, they send stuff to our overseas address with no problems.

Ive kept mine aswell. I changed everything for online banking no probs.

Yep, kept mine while abroad for 12 years. You just can't open any new UK ones if you don't have an address here. Oh, and if any of them are interest-bearing, don't forget to ask for the forms to fill in so you get interest paid gross.
