I am currently applying for French nationality (married to a frenchman and living in france) but I need evidence of a clean criminal record in the UK to complete my application.

Does anyone know how I would go about this please?

Contact the British embassy in Paris - they will probably know who you need to approach for this.

What a good idea; merci!

Hi Miumiu,

just wondering if you managed to work this one out? After almost 10 years living in France I've finally decided to get my ass moving and apply for dual nationality (I've been putting it off for 4 years due to a deep-rooted hatred of French bureaucracy)

Have you ever had a CRB done, frog? I had one done just before leaving the UK which will count when I apply.

FrogLover, the Embassy should provide you with evidence of a clean criminal record.
I had to get one ages ago to take the concours, and got a very scrappy written paper from the Consulate in Mauritius saying that to the best of their knowledge I'd never been found guilty of a criminal offence.
It did the trick, though.
