My friend has just found out she might be moving to paris for 6 months early next year. Where should she look online for advice or can you suggest good arondissements for a couple about to start a family, who are active and love the outdoors, and will be keen to see and do lots at the weekends to maximise their stay there?

Thanks.

I live outside Paris but have been recommended the Message website by MNers here. Haven't really used it though.

Angloinfo is another good site. They might want to consider living on the outskirts Paris is they're active/outdoorsy types, maybe near the Bois de Vincennes, or possibly the Bois de Boulogne (but the 16th is rather boring) although that means you can't do quite so much cultural stuff at the weekends. For real Parisian living then you can't beat living near Montmatre, the Marais or near Saint-Germain. Do you know what kind of budget they're on?

A lot of English people choose to live in the 17th, the Americans tend to cluster in the 7th and 16th.

If they want to take weekend trips away the best stations to be near are Montparnasse or Gare de Lyon!

I loved Paris and can't wait to get back there.

Great thanks for this info. She'll find out soon, I'm looking forward to booking our first trip to visit her
