Have you come across this strange "Mila" system for learning to read? I have to admit I am deeply concerned about it as it seems to have elements of ITA about it. Does anyone have experience of it? Do you know anything about it? I would love to hear from you if you do or even if you just want to share experiences.

Are your children in the Luxembourgish school? It is very different to other systems...

Yes, DD is in the Luxembourgish system. We took the decision to go this route after much consideration and I'm hoping it wasn't the wrong one! At least my immediate "problem" with the Mila system has been sorted out - I spoke to the teacher about my concerns and it turns out there was a misunderstanding about how reading is taught.
What's your experience of the Lux system?

I was at the European School. Several of my parents' friends and acquaintances put their English children through the Luxembourgish system. It seemed very tough; some did well out of it though.

DH was at the European School too... Small world.
I've heard the Luxembourgish system is tough but hopefully DD and DS will thrive - not sure I'll survive unscathed though.
