Starting to Make plans to move my son and I to Geneva next summer.

He is autistic.

What's the provision like for Special needs children there?

Any help/advice very much appreciated.

Have a look on SwissMoms Yahoo group, if you join that then you can get lots of info. I seem to remember that there is a group for children with SN in Switzerland too. Will look for you.

Expat Moms In Switzerland

Special Kids CH

The second group will probably be best able to offer advice.

TheMysticMasseuse · 17/10/2009 08:43

wuxiaplan, have a look at www.oakhill.ch/

Wuxiapian · 03/11/2009 16:25

Thanks, guys.

We're just back from 10 days in Geneva.

Looked at the Fedea School, but didn't feel it was right for my son.

Wondering if anyone has any views/experiences of The International School of Geneva?

Traffic is so fast moving on the Expat Moms site and quite the opposite on the Special Kids one.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Have a look at LCIS
La cote school its in Vich just past Nyon

Also look at "ASK" its a website for support of special needs

Niftyblue · 03/11/2009 20:29

www.allspecialkids.org

Is the website for ASK

I hope that helps

kreecherlivesupstairs · 05/11/2009 08:57

Also have a look at the englishforum.ch
you can ask specific questions on there too.

strudelface · 05/11/2009 09:15

My dds go to the International School of Geneva - I am extremely pleased with it. Although dd2 doesn't have special needs she was way behind her peers (long story) and the help she has got and is getting is fantastic.

I know of a couple of children that are on the autistic spectrum at the school.

If you have any specific questions you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Niftyblue · 05/11/2009 11:58

The only school i would avoid is I.I.L they are crap with special needs and children with any special needs are unable to go up the high school

We moved for this reason as Ds was losing his confidance and becomine withdrawn etc etc

fortunecookie88 · 01/11/2016 05:22

Why didn't you like the school FEDEA in Switzerland?

fatowl · 01/11/2016 05:29

I know the new head of the British School, have worked with him.
A nice guy but can't comment on the school as he's only been there since sept.

schplappo · 08/02/2017 16:44

I see this thread is a few years old now but I'm in the same position as the OP and if you're out there Wuxiapian, I wondered where you ended up sending him and how he is getting on?

Strudelface, if you're still out there, are your DDs still at ISG?

Does anyone have any info on BSG?

Thank you!

Newyearnewbrain · 20/02/2017 06:36

Have a look at Mosaic, it's a small bilingual independent school. I'm not sure what the provision is for children with special needs but I know there were some kids in DDs class with quite challenging disabilities and the school was excellent. We loved the ethos and I wish we were still living in Switzerland for that school alone!

Rosy75 · 17/03/2017 08:48

Hi lovely ladies! Please does anyone have any news/ info on fedea. Am looking at it for my son. The fees are crazy but just wondering if the school is worth it .. any experience or news would be appreciated

WorriedLAC · 18/03/2017 09:31

if you are looking for mainstream, with plenty of support, have a look at Gems International Etoy.

Ledzepp · 02/03/2019 18:37

Does anybody has any feedback on the fedea school in morges switzerland. I want to take my son there and really need some urgent feedbacks on the school

MariaNovella · 02/03/2019 19:55

Ledzepp - I suggest you start your own thread with the name of the school in the title.
