Do I need to take a carseat to Germany if we are only going to be using taxis?

We normally take a carseat for our two year old, but I wondered if taxis in Germany are automatically fitted with children's seats (like Addison Lee here). We are going for a long weekend and will be making about four cab journeys. Do I need to take it? Will post in shorthaul travel too
Thanks

Taxis are fitted with car seats in Germany (or at least they are in Berlin).

you do not need to take a carseat. IME not every taxi will be carrying a carseat though. If you are taking a taxi at the airport, ask the first taxi driver and if he doesn't happen to have one, they'll find one for you. If you call to order a cab, I was told you have to tell them you need a carseat. (mit Kindersitz bitte). If you're staying in a hotel, ask them to check the taxi will have a carseat.

shouldn't be any problem at all
