The winner just has to be The Witloof Museum of Belgium - that is a whole museum dedicated to the vegetable Chicory.

Gibralta. All of it.

FelixFelicis · 20/07/2009 17:32

Madame Toussauds

Overpriced, overhyped and overcrowded.

LynetteScavo · 20/07/2009 17:34

DH would say the lobster hatchery in Padstow - but I love it, and insist on going in every year.

Mercy · 20/07/2009 17:36

The Register office & grounds in Gibraltar are nice though! It's not that bad LS

lol at this thread

LongtimeinBrussels -how can a chocolate museum be bad?!

Agree about the Niagara Falls -all neon lights especially when they illuminate the waterfalls to different colours.

DH won't believe me when I tell him that I was very unimpressed with the Niagra Falls!

LynetteScavo · 20/07/2009 18:24

Well, Mercy, I haven't seen the registry office. And I suppose the monkeys are quite sweet.

Kiwinyc · 20/07/2009 21:02

Bakersman: the Mutter Museum

Basically its an ancient collection of body parts preserved in formaldehyde in large glass jars!

MyCatIsGreebo · 20/07/2009 21:06

Lands end. Was expecting something dramtic and awe inspiring. Got a big carpark, ugly building and tarmac paths

missfitt · 20/07/2009 21:09

land's end, john o groats and the lizard.

LongtimeinBrussels · 20/07/2009 23:49

Belgo, please just take my word for it and don't waste your money. It was pokey and I remember the woman demonstrating was being very radical about something and we couldn't get away (can't remember what though!). On the plus side, we got a little bit of free chocolate but as the shops are full of it, I'd advise to spend your money on a box of them rather than this museum!

LongtimeinBrussels · 20/07/2009 23:58

Belgo, I'm hijacking here - don't forget about the meeting-up thread - they're looking for you over there!

abroadandmisunderstood · 21/07/2009 09:28

I'm the winner! We have a peppermint museum in our town.

belgo · 22/07/2009 07:43

thanks LontimeinBrussels!

still think wiflof is more boring then peppermint!

Bob Marley's old home in Trenchtown, Kingston is quite wierd and totally pointless. You get a very stoned old rasta showing you around what is basically an old, tatty house saying "that old car over there, Bob's car" etc. And everyone promising when they get the money they are going to do it all up and get loads of tourists (there are no tourists in Kingston, everyone's too scared). Then you drive off through the badlands and back to uptown Kingston where you can breath safely again.....

aw c'mon Zoomarine in Portugal is alright , we booked the swimming with dolphins programme which was the main thing we did there. Dd LOVED it and still goes on and on about it.I think if we hadn't done the dolphin thing, just gone round doing the rides, it would not have been worth it though.

I think the weirdest thing we did was go to some small depressing village in Brandenburg (forget where now) outside Berlin and pay to look in a kind of small tomb at the body of a knight which has not decomposed, apparently he was cursed for raping a young girl (first night privilege). He was small and shriveled but he still had eyes and skin. Peculiar. Really very strange.
