Quick! I need to fax the UK - how do I do it?

I know to phone it is 00 44 + phone number (minus 0)

So to call 01202 xxx-xxxx, you'd do 00 44 1202 xxx xxxx

Is it the same for faxes? Because I tried and it wouldn't go through

I was hoping I had done it wrong and there was another way of doing it. Without the 00 or something. Oh well!
