Hello! What university? South of the River (SOR) or North of the River (NOR). Let me know and I can try and help with suburbs and childcare. Still looking at childcare myself though. Know quite a bit about places to stay though.

Unfortunately they've just emailed that there are no mid-year intakes for my course of interest.Even though the website said there was. Its Murdoch University. And February is so far away . But i found a University that has mid-year intakes for the course and i'v applied. It's in Toowoomba. It seems to be the only Uni in Australia havin mid-year intakes for my course.

That's Queensland and I have only been on holiday there. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Double check with Murdoch and tell them about their website. Just in case you were speaking to or received an e-mail from someone who misread something.

Murdoch has a good reputation.

Thanks oldnewmummy for the link!

Yes I intend to call them tonight.
I just found another University in Adelaide. Flinders University. Do you know about this one? You know i'm also considering the cities because of my children.

Sorry for the bother and thank you for replying

inscotland · 12/05/2009 09:04

I've never been to Adelaide but I know plenty of people there. To be honest, with the main cities, I don't think you can go wrong with having kids there. It's such an outdoors sort of place and it is up to you to integrate as much as you can, ie never turn down an invitation to a party or a day out as you never know who you might meet.

I'd definitately suggest posting on the british expats website. It is full of people who have already moved and know more about Queensland and Adelaide than I do. They will give you their honest opinions, especially when it comes to the children.

I made a phone call to Murdoch and yes you were right, they did make a mistake. The course is available for July so i'm applying.
I've checked lots of websites and i'm happy with what i'm hearing of Perth.Thanx

creamcaramella · 13/05/2009 03:26

Please do share with me any info that you think i might find useful.

I have got people coming round shortly but will come back to this tonight.

Murdoch is South of the River so off the top of my head Willieton, Bull Creek, Carlisle and Leeming are all good areas for families. Have a look at the REIWA.com website as it lists all the rentals available.

You need to drive in Perth. Big open spaces although the train service is brilliant and very cheap.

Give me a list of questions and I'll be happy to share what I know!

Perth is perfect for children!
