Long shot - any pharmacists in or moving to Australia?

We've finally rented out our flat in the UK and will be emigrating to Australia in November, but where depends on my job. Are there any pharmacists out there who could offer any advice about jobs/companies etc? Many thanks

Im not a pharmacist but look at Monster.com.au , state government websites (for govt jobs in hospitals etc), rgsaustralia.com.au, mycareer.com.au , careerone.com.au

Where are you planning on moving too?
Are planning on moving to a big city or small town?
I am curious as so many people move to the cities and the little places are dying out for health professionals thats all.

Hi thanks for your reply I have looked at rsg but not the others so i'll do some searching.

We dont really have set plans of where to go, it all really depends on my job. We don't want to be in a city, a smaller town would suit us better, and I'm a community pharmacist so I don't need to be near a big hospital. We've travelled through NSW and QLD, but feel we might like to try around Adelaide.

I would think that people think a city has more facilities/things to do, but we've recently had a baby girl and I want to move somewhere that has a sense of community, is friendly and is a good place for her to grow up!

Whereabouts do you live? & any recommendations!?

I am in London now but I am from Brisbane. Have lived only in Qld but in Toowoomba (lovely for families), Townsville (full of uni students and army people - dont live there its boring), Charleville (way out west), Ipswich (typical city nothing exciting there) and please forgive me but Gympie and Beaudesert (dont live there ever).

I have heard good things about Adelaide and surrounding places. Lots of British in Perth now so not sure whether you want to avoid it oor not.

Out of Queensland, I would pick Brisbane, Toowoomba, Ipswic or maybe somewhere like Mackay.

hi not sure what 'kind' of pharmasist you are but as a nurse i think pharmasist as in hospital pharmasist! so id suggest anywhere with a good hospital! Out of brisbane ispwich has one but personally out west is a bit dry for me... ditto gympie and beaudessert above.. a long way from anywhere or anything.. we live in north of brisbane just off bribie island and again loads of brits here, but its lovely and under an hour to brisvegas. we have two kids who love it and cant imagine leaving for anything!

Hi there Hootie, I know nothing of Pharmacies but I do know Adelaide! I've lived in the Adelaide Hills for the last 3 yrs and it's a great place for families - we are about 20 minutes from the city centre (well, 30 during rush hour) but I live amongst trees, native and European, the wildlife is fantastic, we live on the fringe of a great village with good shops, very good primary schools and are about 30 mins drive from the beach. We have 2 pharmacies in the village, a local village hospital another one 10 mins drive away, and of course there is Adelaide just down the road. I have 2 children here and they love it - lets face it children are pretty happy anywhere, but as a mum it's great.

Also look at Seek for jobs.
