thinking about moving overseas

(not 100% yet, just both want a new start away from family)

Can anyone recommend some good literature/websites to have a look at. Not too sure about where yet either, oh fancies Spain maybe & I wouldn't mind Australia but it is just a 'thinking about' for the time being until we find out as much as poss

try britishexpats.com. I am thinking of moving to new zealand or australia. if you google the country it tends to bring up their governement website which can be useful.

As an current Expat, I think it worth bearing in mind that you never get a totally clean start. It can be very hard being away from your usual support network of family and friends. And that you have to take on board those times that you and dh have had an argument and you have NOWHERE to run to. And when the dcs are sick, there is noone to help out. And that it takes lots of time and effort to make new friends. And that if you have to deal with things in a foreign language it can make simple things really difficult.

I don't mean to put a downer on you, but when you want to move to get away, sometimes you don't always think of how you will cope when you are far away from you are used to. My advice is to make sure you are totally secure in your relationship and discuss how you will manage with difficult times.

DH and I are in the foundation stages of emigrating to Australia. What do you/DP do? There is a current skills in demand list for emigrating there. Britishexpats is good, also here
