Anyone in Zurich?

Come talk to me! I have applied for a job in Zurich and need to decide whether or not it will be worthwhile.
Childcare-easy to find? Expensive? is the cost of living fairly high?
Please tell me all about it!!

One of my closest friends has just relocated to Zurich but she has no children yet so am unable to answer questions about childcare. If you have other questions I can ask her for her opinions.

I am not in Zurich, but in Geneva in the French speaking area of Switzerland.

We moved here last year so are still in the "honeymoon phase" and I love it here.

The cost of living is higher than in UK, although I think that Zurich is not as expensive as Geneva.

How old are your DC?

Children go to school from age 4yo, voluntary for the first 2 years, then compulsary from 6yo. I cannot say much about before 4yo as mine were already older when we moved.

Ours are in local schooling, and we are extremely happy with the school.

There is a group on Yahoo, where you can get more detailed info on living in Zurich, there are members in that area.
