RE the tosser who said "You have to be selfish, have minimal social responsibility, and want to make money quick."

Let's hope he loses the lot and then comes to realise the importance of social responsibility when he needs a roof over his head.

Yes, what a shite comment. A saying comes to mind: Succeeding is not enough. Others must fail.

I am inbound for DU on Thursday and we'll be moving to AD next month. Fingers crossed we can stay.

Makes for grim reading.

We're in construction out here. Not because we fancied living in a solid gold house and buying the children a leer jet each for Christmas but because there simply wasn't any work back home. We knew it was a risk coming out here, but it was that or default on our mortgage payments. Our hand was forced.

The treatment of the Indian construction workers is sickening.

I'm not the biggest fan of this place, but bloodty hell, that article takes the biscuit doesn't it.
What a dickhead they interviewed!!

I hate the idea that any body I know in the Uk would assume I was here to 'make money etc etc./
My hubby is an international manager for a large bank, and it was just the next stop on the list, as it were.

It's idiots like that bloke that give all Brits a bad name.

If anybody has any time on their hands btw, Elle at www.helpinghandsuae.com (I think) must be over run at the moment.
