Weather in Germany - August

A while ago I posted asking for recommendations for somewhere to go on holiday in the north of Germany in August
original thread here

After some false starts we are thinking about the North sea islands - Baltrum, Amrum, Spiekeroog.
BUT, please please be honest with me, could the weather be as bad as it was in England last August (when we ended up freezing in Cornwall) - or is it a pretty safe bet?

Bumping for you.

Usually a few degrees warmer, but no guarantees.

I spent very hot summers there (but Frankfurt, so much further south) in 2001 and 2002.

Can't say I'd want to holiday there, but each to their own!

ohdearwhatamess, I object to that comment!Germany is very beautiful in places, and a great place for a holiday.

Weather unpredictable though.

We went to Denmark a couple of years ago in August, not far from where you're thinking of going.

The first week was rather cool, wet and windy, the second hot, sunny and windy. No guarantees I think of good weather in that part of Germany. Take a scarf!

Agree with Emkana. Germany is a fab place for a holiday

Thanks, we might re-think again - can't face another bad weather holiday
