British Expats is another really good one for Oz, we got lots of advice there and I've made some really good friends through it now I'm here (we've been in Sydney 18 months now).

The best place to start would be the Australian Government Immigration website - you can do a quick online check to see how many points you are eligible for if you want to do the skilled migration route. If either of you has an occupation in demand (like nursing) it's much easier. If you are looking for sponsorship it's a bit more difficult, though of course lots of people do manage it.

Look online - there must be heaps of forums for advice.

An article in the paper on Sunday reported approx 8800 Brits are now living in the Redland Bay area of Brisbane . The total population for that area is around 132000 so a lot of Brits in that one shire.
