Married a Mexican (he's not got a big hat which is a shame, perhaps I should have made itpart of themarriage contract), and now have a wee Mexican baby to go with it. What about you?

YYour DS could do worse. Mexicans (esp. my DH) are lovely. Mexico is perhaps the only place in the world hat, when you go out for a meal with a baby, the waiter/ress or even a random stranger at the next table will say. "Hand him over for a minute while you have your meal".

dooneygirl · 04/02/2009 03:52

Dinner's going to lead a pretty lonely life if he can only go places where there's no potential of him being hit. Colin was enrolled in a preschool that was 1/2 NT and 1/2 SN, and I was excited to send him there. Unfortunately we moved away, and he never got the chance to go there. I think it is great Dinner goes where he does.

More people. Hi Catita!

This whole format has really cut down on my MN time. This is only the 2nd time I've checked it today.

SuperBunny · 04/02/2009 04:04

Won't he just? That preschool sounds great, Dooney.

Must be wonderful Catita - the eating out with a baby. Shame about DH not having a hat

Okay let me at your Ex H SB. Seriously he's living in a bubble. In fact just send him here and I'll let him watch my boys at play. Seeing as he's spoken to me and I was plain spoken then lol. GRRRRRRRRRRR. Weather's way too nice here, compared to you and the parents in the UK .

dooneygirl · 04/02/2009 04:36

It was beautiful here, too. Over 60. Too bad we were on the go for a lot of the day.

nooka · 04/02/2009 05:28

My dd was quite a hitter at nursery, although mostly lovely. ds on the other hand liked to take his shoes off and throw them at people Only staff though, and they only mentioned either thing to us in passing, generally it seemed when the issue had stopped or lessened (ie one of dd's reports said she was getting better at not hitting when she didn't get her own way). I thin it is very normal at this age to lash out when you don't get your own way.

kickassangel · 04/02/2009 17:05

SOOO jealous of all of you saying how lovely it is. sunny here, but -12C (must learn F, although apparently the last really cold day expected - next week might hit +5C!!!!
still, have finally bought myself some uggs & am sitting here with super warm tootsies.

sb - if your ex-h doesn't bother finding out more about a playgroup, he doesn't get to vote on it. a bit like a sun reader thinking they undestand politics, is how i see his reaction (iyswim)

gotta go - about to have a girls lunch at my house - need to do something with the vacuum cleaner first (hide it?)

kickassangel · 04/02/2009 17:06

hi, catita, sorry, didn't mean to ignore you (how rude).

SuperBunny · 05/02/2009 00:54

Isn't it bitterly cold, Kickasss? I think you are right about Ex - I'll let him work things out. He's now on his high horse about shouting (me at DS, on occasion )

Hope you had a good lunch.

We went to a lovely spring playdate at the conservatory - they have a spring flower show which is a room packed full of hyacinths. The smell was amazing

Hello again.
How's life/dc treating you all today?
I read the same story 10 times to my DS tonight at bedtime. I am sick to the back teeth of the darned thing. But he loves it. Oh to be 13 months old and that easy to please!

They do have an artificial sort of smell about them - they remind me of furniture polish.

Catita, I have been known to hide books after evenings like yours

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 05/02/2009 02:52

but why nasal spray? I've never used one so don't know if they smell

Why does nasal spray make you sneeze [puzzled emoticon]??
I'm with SB, I've never used one so am pig ignorant.

anorak · 05/02/2009 04:28

Sorry to bore those of you that know this already but when I was shopping today I saw the most vile thing in the freezer in the supermarket. Tubs of beef bile

Weird. We have lots of things on offer here that I haven't seen for a long time (oxtail and beef bones for example) oh and "mature" chicken. I do slightly miss visiting the local chinese/korean supermarket, with it's fish and lobsters in tanks.

Catita, you must have a lot of patience! I think I would have refused after three or four times. However my children are eight and nine now, so if they want to read something more than once, they can do it themselves! I'm enjoying reading them some of my childhood favourites now.

SuperBunny · 05/02/2009 04:38

I can't wait to be able to do that Nooka - reading real books will be great.

When we went to Chinatown, they had tanks of live toads I didn't know people ate them.
