Just moved to Western Australia- South of Perth..Any advice / support?

Me, DH and DS 2 1/2yo moved to Secret Harbour, South Perth. WA 5 weeks ago, I have got full time job as DH not yet found work. Finding it hard to juggle being mum, stressful job etc. DH finding it tough being FT dad, although just put DS into nursery 3 days a week.
I am worrying about Xmas without friends and family. I know we have made the right move but find it tough at times. Any advice or meet ups locally??

Think Suzywong and Oliveoil are in Perth. Might be worth doing a search for them?

I have friends in Floreat - I loved Perth when I visited a few years ago. Bet you'll settle in beautifully.

Have a look at the "meet ups" section of the British Expats website - I've made some good friends through it since we arrived (I'm in Sydney I'm afraid, so no use to you!).

We are hoping to be in Perth later this year and we have been looking at Secret Harbour as an area SOR, also Mandurah and thinking of Bunbury?? Little worried that there may not be enough work in Bunbury but the houses are cheaper aren't they? My dh will be working as a boilermaker.

A little worrying your OH has not found work yet what does he do?

There is a nursery just as you go into Secret Harbour on the left hand side next to the show houses. We visited and thought it was quite good.

Secret Harbour for us was just a bit too far out of Perth. Ok for daily commuting but too far for me from the city and family NOR.

We're moving in September. Hope you are settling in well. You've made a good decision!
