Sorry to shout but my new niece/nephew is being born (after the last posting day to Sweden for Christmas) so I am sending some bits for his/her treasure basket

Do I need to write an explanation for what they are or is my SIL (Swedish) likely to know

D(?)B is very unlikely to know....men are like that

I want to post today so if I do need an explanation can someone come up with something nice??

By he way these are carefully selected items - not just some tat out of my kitchen draw......

What on earth is a treasure basket?

KatyMac · 17/11/2008 09:24

Oh....& I'm guessing you are uk

A treasure basket is a large(ish) bsket full of lovely textured things both natural and man-made for babies to discover. They include smell, textures, sound, sight and can have taste as well

You can make them with themes eg a fruit one or a metal one or an easter/christmas one or just have a basic one which can be kept on a shelf & used to entertain baby

I am half Swedish (raised in UK) I have never heard of this!

I am Norwegian, and I have only heard of this in the UK. You will need to explain, I think.

never heard of them myself

if they were commonplace I think MIL/inlaws would have ensured we had one

Cool - I will send a little book from amazon as well
