One week to go....

.....and we're moving back to the UK. I'm really looking forward to it - even the cold!!! Although I am going to miss my friends here soooo much

We're leaving in one month and three days. I quite understand your excitement.

As a parting gift, China gave me the WORST dose of food poisoning I have ever had yesterday (one dried apricot - I think I would have been in hospital if I'd eaten more). I will be very, very pleased to say zai jian to e.coli, air pollution and truly horrific driving.

How long have you lived in China ninedragons? We have been away for nearly 3 years.

Nearly two years in Shanghai, before that about six years in Hong Kong and six years in the UK.

Will be very odd to return to Australia with a DH (acquired in HK) and a DD (born in Shanghai) when I left as a wide-eyed student with a backpack.

DH got some financial advice today that involves our leaving Aus again for 180 days when we pay off our mortgage to keep our endowment policy tax-free (many years from now). At the moment I am thinking I'd rather be socked with the heinous Australian tax than leave again. I am DONE with the expat life.

Good luck with the move! It's a great feeling to be going home isn't it?
