Hola Chicas!
I'm off to the Uk in a week and will probably be unable to check MN for 6 weeks as time will be precious. Keep me up to date on meetups etc though.

Ninedragons, when are you moving here? Think it was Nov.
Arfishy - lets get that pre christmas meet up sorted!

Byeeeee!

gogo girls? what HAVE you been up to? LOL

ninedragons · 30/07/2008 05:27

November, but I am just sitting here thinking maybe if DH is going to be working like a slave and leaving me alone for 15 hours a day perhaps I should leave early and come in October.

Good luck sorting out your tenants and all that mess!

brightongirldownunder · 30/07/2008 15:39

Make it Oct ND! I may be moving to Eastern Burbs mid Nov.
I can "drag" you out for a drink or twenty..hehe...

Oh and thanks for support re tenants. Just found out the pricks have laid a laminate floor on top of a very expensive wool carpet. I am going to have to be restrained when I met them.

Jesus Christ, they really have found all sorts of innovative ways to be difficult!

I really do not understand why anyone would do something like that. We banged a few picture hooks into our walls here, but we do understand the fundamental difference between renting and owning.

It is starting to sound to me like your agents have been so slack that you should claim all the damage on their insurance. Even I know that tenants in Brighton need to have a close eye kept on them - an acquaintance in Hong Kong returned and found that the tenants had ripped up his floorboards and put in a hydroponic marijuana farm.

brightongirldownunder · 30/07/2008 15:54

We've got a lawyer on the case now as its the agents incompetance thats led us down this merry road.

sheesh - dope farm eh? Did your friend celebrate or commiserate?

Night ND x

He was apoplectic - IIRC, he couldnt even repair the damage until the police had taken all their evidence. It was years ago that I met him, but I think he said it took months before the police let him into his own house again.

Hope the flight is ok - sedatives are your friends!

brightongirldownunder · 30/07/2008 16:22

keep your fingers crossed for me and E on flight. She has started stamping her feet. I'll be downing the phenergan and leaving her to the lovely air stewardesses!

Are you flying through HK, Singers or BKK [must get keyboard replaced - I didnt realise how nosy I was until my question mark disappeared]

brightongirldownunder · 30/07/2008 16:34

singers for 1 1/2 hours. Don't ask - Russ booked it. He also booked sep. flight the b'tard

Take her up to the smoking area. It is big, so you wont be in a fog of smoke, but it is a sunflower garden and always full of enchanted toddlers.

brightongirldownunder · 30/07/2008 16:40

fab thankyou love!
You missed a cracker on the rude thread. Ta for the lovely comments too - someones been stirring, very childish. I actually could have done without that crap with the tenants being such cocks.

ninedragons · 30/07/2008 16:48

I didnt see the thread you were referring to, but dont let it worry you.

I nearly bought myself some clinky silver bangles at Balmain markets after our night out, and then I thought no, its too sad to rip someones style off completely.

Go to bed, for christs sake, it is nearly 2am.

brightongirldownunder · 30/07/2008 16:50

Night ND!

Have a good trip Brightongirl - hope your flat is still in one piece! I'll think of you sitting on the lovely pebbly beach in what passes for an English Summer

Can I propose something radical for our next meet? Evening plans often seem to go tits up for some of us at the last minute so what about meeting up on a Saturday afternoon for a bite to eat and some wine then those who can still stand want to can find a bar and keep going and anyone who needs to duck out can before it comes to the late train/expensive taxi decision.

sunnydelight · 05/08/2008 09:12

Why doesn't the hyphen/strike out thing work for me?

ninedragons · 06/08/2008 03:20

Splendid idea about afternoon meet-ups.

I couldn't get the bold to work on another thread so perhaps it is the same problem as your strike-out.

ViolentFemme · 08/08/2008 12:48

Good idea girls, afternoon drinking is always just a little bit decadent. It would need to be a weekend for me though (or I could meet you lushes straight from work).

(PS I think you need the hyphens around each word for the strike out to work?)

sunnydelight · 15/08/2008 09:45

Shall we try and sort a date before this slips so far down the page we all forget about it! What about a Saturday in October which will give Brightongirl a chance to get back and catch her breath? I can do any Saturday after the 4th at this stage - anyone else?
