Does anyone know about the Kenyan education system?

An Au Pair related question - I have just had an application from someone who left school after O Levels.

She says that the normal age to take O Levels in Kenya is 18, and they get A levels at 21.

Is this really correct or is she lying about her age?

Official documents can't be relied upon, btw.

anyone? I can find out the truth if I ask her to scan and email loads of documents, but would be easier if I could find out now if she is telling the truth or not.

bumping for you.

Hello I am in Nairobi. Frankly she could have taken them at any age, it depends on which school she went to and how long for.

Where is she from? Does she live in Nairobi? How old does she say she is? I am happy to meet her if you like

Hi, themasterandmargaritas, thank you for the reply. I got the same opinion from someone else here, so my mind is a bit at rest on that one, and I'll know for next time.
Thank you for the kind offer, but she is quite a long way out of Nairobi actually. Also, thinking it over, I have decided not to take her on, because she didn't give me a reason to hire her during two telephone interviews - I was looking for a spark of enthusiasm/intelligence outside the standard answers to interview questions, but I didn't get it, although I gave her plenty of leads. There are just too many really excellent candidates out there.
