I am looking for advice on whether private schools within Toronto or the GTA generally offer learning support / Sen if dc have eg mild dyslexia or low needs ASD « high functioning » - this sort of thing. I have seen « our kids » website, but most refer to special schools with very small student populations. I find it hard to really understand if private schools generally offer learning support for kids that otherwise can access mainstream education similar to how learning support might work in uk independent schools. I would be grateful if anyone can offer thoughts/knowledge on this please. Thanks

Thanks so much! This is great, but just wondering more about private schools specifically? Do the mainstream private offer learning support when needed? The Our Kids seems a bit like a Good Schools guide, but not so informative on Sen unless a special school, if you see what I mean? Thanks for any info!

Private schools in Toronto will be much more supportive of mildish LDs than you are used to in the UK. The amount of support will depend on resources, so generally the more you are paying in fees the more support will be available in the classroom. If you child needs additional support, they will generally be happy to organise it and charge you.

Age? single-sex or co-ed? Which area of the GTA? My knowledge will be a bit out of date but I can probably give you some suggestions….
