Singapore shopping recommendations

Hi everyone. Coming to Singapore for a weekend soon, lived there a decade or so ago and have visited a few times since. I used to love wandering around the shops in Dempsey Road (before they became restaurants) and places like Lims in Holland Village (which I understand has now closed). Where are good places currently for “interesting crafty shite”? Not bothered about the Prada/Gucci etc shopping.

Thanks :)

New Bahru has a couple of nice shops, and Cluny Court can be cute. Or look up sunday social market on socials for a bougie craft market vibe. Didn't know lims had gone though!

For books, then Duxton is nice as well, or Tiong Bahru always. Or if you want furniture, try Hock Siong, my favourite.

Joo Chiat Road is good. I normally start at A Vintage Tale and wander around. Haji lane is fun for teens in that there’s vintage clothes and cute stuff. Also there’s a place called Junkies Corner which is like a bizarre warehouse full of antiques and cobwebs, but be sure to have transport organized otherwise you’ll get stuck there.

Thanks so much

I was going to say Joo Chiat especially as Design Orchard has moved out there as a pop up.
