Primary Schools in Kuwait

Looking for people's experiences of KG & Primary schools in Kuwait if anyone is there? I know there's not a huge UK expat community, so not expecting many replies 😅

Currently looking at NES and TES, so I'm especially interested in opinions on them and if there are any other schools I should consider?

Thank you 🙏🏼

My cousin's dc went to TES, and loved it. The pastoral care seemed great.

I am hearing a lot of good things about TES on the ground too.

Thank you for replying!

BSK
Large, continuously expanding. Was set up decades ago by a Scottish lady who married a local but it looks like it's been sold to an international conglomerate recently.

TES
is affiliated with the British Embassy. Used to be mostly expats, has taken on local students over the past 5 years.

KES/NES
Used to be a solid option a few decades ago, don't hear much about them both.

The American schools are very very different and much more expensive. The British schools choose their own exams EdExcel vs Cambridge I think?

Other than that there is a huge expat community with lots of brits. It's horribly hot in the summer and you mostly have to driver everywhere. If you have any more questions about life in Kuwait feel free to DM

Thank you so much! Really good to hear!

We definitely want a British school and curriculum in case we need to go back to the UK at any point.

My husband is actually Kuwaiti so we spend a lot of time there, but we're now needing to actually stay put as the kids are getting to school age.

What I would love to know is if there are any thriving toddler groups or social opportunities for parents? I can't really find anything akin to what we have in the UK.

Thanks for responding!

I know that wasn't aimed at me and I don't have specific toddler groups but you might find these facebook groups useful :)

TES hands down! Great team and leadership and has a real UK Primary school feel about it (well as much as you can get in Kuwait!).

Wow I'm amazed that I even got 3 people replying to this thread! I wonder how many brits in Kuwait are on Mumsnet.

Thank you @Habibtihayatiii we are going to visit TES soon and it seems like it's going to come out on top - this is all very encouraging.

We went to see TES and it was miles better than NES!

Facilities at TES are incredible and the children were so happy and playful. Think we found a winner.
