Moving to Chicago....need advice

My husband has just been offered a job in Chicago and it is 80% certain we will be relocating this summer. Can anybody live any advice re. good districts to live, schools etc? We need all the advice we can get!

I've just relocated to the UK after living in the Chicago area for 20+ years. I am happy to recommend some great places to live but the key is knowing the location where your husband will be working. Will he be working in the downtown Chicago area? Or a suburb? If you could share that with me, I will be happy to provide some helpful information. I know how nice it was for me (and still is) when people provide me support about the UK and the London suburbs. We've arrived only 10 days ago.
