Public transport in Brussels

Hello, I’m visiting Brussels shortly with my family. Two adults and two children. We used to live in Brussels but our Mobib cards are about a decade out of date. It looks like the paper 10 journey STIB tickets which were so useful for tourist families no longer exist and most tickets have moved to Mobib. It’s not worth us paying for four Mobib cards for this visit and we don’t have four separate credit cards that we can each use to tap for each journey. Is there any solution other than buying four individual paper tickets for each trip? I don’t think we’ll use enough transport each day to justify buying four 1 day tickets each day.

Can a couple of you use bank cards - debit cards work as well as credit cards - and then digital tickets on phones are also an option plus paper tickets for anyone else?

From what I remember last time we were there (we also used to live there!) you could top up one mobib card with a certain number of journeys and just share it between you. I think we just had one between the three of us. That was about two years ago now, I know they have changed things but I'm pretty sure you can do that.

Thanks for the answers - on the STIB website it said that journeys on the Mobib card couldn’t be used for multiple people. Good idea about DH and I using debit card and the kids having paper tickets.

The Mobib personal card is assigned to a specific person, but with the basic one you can load multiple journeys (similar to the old paper tickets) and share it, providing you tap in for the number of journeys you're using. It definitely worked for us, and looking at the website I can't see anything to suggest it wouldn't anymore.
