Anyone moving to California!

PLease help! i am moving to california with my two young children (1 and nearly 4) and partner for 2 years! Really scared of leaving the family etc! and how the children will be leaving the uk for that amount of time!! Has anyone else moved there or has any information!! H27

I think she is.. but obviously in a different time zone (can't work it out!) Maybe start a thread with her name included in the title in Overseas? and just keep bumping it? I've seen her advise others moving to the West Coast..

We're in LA and love it! Only for a few months though but if the opportunity came up for us to stay for a year or two I would definitely take it. There are lots of positives about living here, the lovely climate being one of them.
anyway, you're in the right place - I've had lots of good advice from the US girls!

califrau! thanks for getting back to me i really appreciate it! Well i will be finding out more next week as my husband has a new boss who has taken over the company! and it will be part of tescos and the shops over there are called fresh and wild (or something)!! app they are opening up around a 100 stores! so my partner will be very busy when we get there!! I have so much to sort out this end! like renting the house out etc! and it will happen all very fast!! Will it be ok to keep intouch and then i can ask you some questions? If ok my email is [email protected] (bizare email but nickname for my son)!! I am just so worried about going to a totally different country with little ones! etc etc!! thanks H27

Hi there! I moved the opposite direction - from San Diego to the UK! If you're heading to Southern California & have questions I might be able to help - I was there for ten years & absolutely loved it!!!

Hi we lived just north of LA for 6 years before moving back to the UK last year I loved it there and would go back tomorrow if I could. I would be happy to answer any questions if I can. gOod luck
